Hypnotherapy is a natural state, comparable to daydreaming. It is induced by concentration on a single idea or concept. It can bring about a feeling of heightened awareness and calm. Contrary to what stage shows would have you believe you are in complete control at all times and you can only accept suggestions that are in accord with your own values. You cannot be made to do anything against your will.

Hypnotherapy can be successful where other therapies are not. It is the application of hypnotic techniques in such a way as to bring about a therapeutic change. It works by bypassing the conscious mind, which is where all our logical thought processes take place.

This then allows access to the subconscious mind, where all our past experiences and emotions are stored. It can help patients with addictions, anger, blood pressure, blushing, lack of confidence, insomnia, IBS, relationship/marital difficulties, migraine, nail-biting, nightmares, obsessions, pain control, panic attacks, phobias, sexual problems, skin disorders, stress, trauma flashbacks, smoking and weight control and much more.

The number of sessions required varies and is dependant on the problem. This, together with the most appropriate therapy will be assessed during the free initial consultation. Sessions generally last 1 hour. For anti-smoking therapy only one session lasting 1 ½ - 2 hours is necessary.
